About Us

Illawarra Fruit Direct is owned and operated by brothers, Jon & David Barbaro. The business was established in 2003 when Jon & David began distributing stonefruit from a family farm in Young, NSW to the Wollongong area.

The Barbaro family has been involved in the Fruit & Vegetable industry for over four generations, from Citrus and Stonefruit farming in Griffith NSW, back in the 1930’s, when the family's great grandfather arrived in Australia, and more recently stonefruit growing in Young NSW.

Jon & David have had a diverse background in the industry, from farming, wholesale distribution, transport, managing chain stores and involvement in small retail outlets.

This experience and background brings a wealth of knowledge to Illawarra Fruit Direct, with over 20 years of building strong relationships with Sydney Market Agents and local growers, to bring their customers the best quality produce available at the best possible price.

Based from our Warehouse in Wollongong NSW, we currently distribute throughout Wollongong & Shellharbour, to homes, businesses and workplaces.
